mais um dia no escritório :: just another day at the office

Bem para dizer a verdade foi mais para duas noites. Anteontem finalmente consegui algum tempo para avançar com o meu trabalho de guitarra e ainda dedicar-me aos teclados. Finalmente matei o fantasma do midi e passei metade da noite de anteontem a brincar com instrumentos vst e com o reason com o intuito de encontrar 'o som' para a 5A.M. Infelizmente ainda não foi desta, mas chegaremos lá sem dúvida.

Ontem à noite finalmente tivemos uma noite com o pessoal todo em vez das sessões solitárias que tinhamos tido até agora. Escusado será dizer que dá muito mais gozo trabalhar com o pessoal todo apesar de provavelmente se fazer menos, mas estar numa banda não é só trabalho, a parte do convívio apesar de vir em segundo lugar é sempre um factor importante.

O João gravou o baixo das músicas que lhe faltavam ainda, o Roquinho começou o trabalho dele na música nova que ainda não tinha nome mas que agora talvez já tenha (é provavel que se venha a chamar 'Event horizon') e no geral avançamos bastante. Hoje é provavel que hoje grave mais umas guitarras para 'Event horizon'. Ontem ainda começamos a gravar outra das músicas novas chamada 'About the insurrection of the broke', definimos assinaturas rítmicas e tempos mas não fomos muito para alem das faixas guia e da primeira tentativa na bateria.

Definitivamente vamos abrandar o passo até ao fim de semana, estamos em época de exames e há que não desgastar demasiado o pessoal. O pensamento do dia remete-nos para a bombástica frase que o Roquinho proferiu ontem 'Foi à sorte, mas ficou bonito!', às vezes a sorte joga do nosso lado, mas é melhor não ficar à espera dela!

Well to set things straight it was more like two nights. On Tuesday i finally found some time to catch up on my guitar work and even managed to get most of the keyboard parts finished. Finally I killed my midi ghost and spent half the night playing with VST Instruments and with reason trying to find 'the sound' for 5A.M. Haven't quite got it yet, but it's coming.
Last night as a night with all the guys and a much needed change from the usual lonely sessions we had done so far. Needless to say it's a lot more fun to work with all of the gang even though we probably do less but being in a banda isn't just work though it comes first, the friendship and goofing off is an important part of it.
João recorded the bass for all the songs that remained and Roquinho most of his guitar parts for the yet unnamed song (wich will probably be called 'Event horizon' by the way), generally we did pretty good. We managed to start on yet another of the new songs called 'About the insurrection of the broke' defining tempo's and rithm signatures but besides that we didn't go further than recording the ground tracks and the first drums take.
Well definetly slow down before the weekend, most of the guys have exams and study time is needed. Thought of the day, the downright fabulous statement by Roquinho, 'Absolutely by chance, but pretty none the less', sometimes chance favours us but it's best no to rely on it ;)
